The Clan Macpherson Association is a world wide organization formed in 1947 dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of the clan. History of the Macpherson Clan dates to the 13th century to Gilliecatton Mor and is one of the oldest families of the great confederation of Clan Chattan. The central "Highlands" along the river Spey is the territory conveyed to the Macphersons by Robert the Bruce for their support in his feud with the Comyns. The United States Branch was inaugurated in Oct. 1974 with Robert B. MacPherson being selected as the first Chairman. Membership now surpasses 1600 in the United States alone. The branch is divided into regions and chapters each of which sponsor and/or participate in Scottish events within the region.
