NEW SCOTTISH STAMPS

If you have read the autumn issue of the beautiful SCOTTISH LIFE magazine, you may have seen, on page 9, that the Royal Mail has issued a set of four stamps to mark the opening of the new Scottish Parliament on July 1st. Notice especially, the Thistle stamp which was sculpted by Tim Chalk, brother of Jennifer (Chalk) Skeens, who is the wife of Robert Skeens, the 2nd Vice-President of our Clan Skene Association. Other stamps include the Saltaire, the Lion of Scotland, and the Tartan. A presentation packet, including all four stamps, plus background information, can be ordered by calling 0131 550 8989. These are not commemorative stamps, but are expected to be in circulation for a long time.
